4.1.6.1 Introduction

Shopping_Mall_Furniture-Details-50.jpg

"Details" is used here to describe the many items ranging from mall furniture to lighting, signs, door knobs, security panels on fire fighting equipment to other visible items that represent the design intent of a shop, a mall and the overall building. We could also use the term "feature" - but detail seems to me to be more the reality of the things this chapter is covering.

What makes this space the ocean liner allowing you to visit the Orient in one direction and other parts of the world in others? You may say the overall idea of drawing up the deck of a Cruise Ship. Yes, but how do you get this idea - with a lot of details.

A space like this also highlights that any detail out of place would affect, reduce or even destroy the illusion. The designers of this space cared for every detail.
