5.0 Infrastructure Requirements

In this chapter we will look more closely at utility services to make a site inhabitable for humans. The definitions of Infrastructure include public transport (roads, trains, walkways, etc.) and prime energy (gas, oil) as well as water, sewage and rain water drainage.

In this chapter we will only look at the infrastructure requirements of a retail project. Any existing infrastructure on a site to serve the city around will have to be looked at under 3.2 Principals of the Concept.

Public Transport for retail projects is vital and of such key importance that we have give a separate chapter to it - 6. Traffic.
